The Vitra Set begins as a technical study of proportion, geometry, and form.
The amber pieces were developed through multiple iterations of resin density before the translucency was right, warm at the core, clear at the edge. The smoked pieces were calibrated against the board's reflective surface so neither dominates the other.
The result is a chess set that exists equally as sculpture and design object.
